Developed by Alan Bishop from crosses of Emeraude, aunt Ruby's German Green and Brandywine
, Absinthe is an indeterminate plant that sets medium to large beefsteak tomatoes that are pale green tuning to amber. The solid fruit has a complex, even mysterious, flavor as you might expect from its parentage.
The variety is quite productive beginning in about 75 days.
That makes it a little later than Grub's Mystery green, which is very similar. Absinthe is a larger, regular-leaved plant though and seems to handle the heat better.
I don't have much seed this year, as I neglected to collect it in time, but I will put at least 35 seeds in a packet.
